June 2026 - Round up
Wins, challenges and the month in numbers for June 2026.
The monthly round-up is one year old - happy first birthday to this series of blogs!
Wins
It’s been a scorcher of a month, with temperatures soaring and lots on at 13X. Hari taught classes in 3 different countries and managed to squeeze in a rare bit of spare time on 2 of the trips leading to a rainy afternoon wandering around Munich and a very hot morning exploring a little bit of St Julian in Malta.
What was especially nice about the Malta trip was reconnecting with Aarti Madoo Carl, Hari worked with 20 years ago back when she was an intranet assistant. So great to get a chance to catch up, enjoy the impressive view from her new digs in Malta.
It’s been a month for reconnections as the brilliant Calyx Palmer is back on the team (after taking a few quiet months to finish her PhD and teaching duties) and Hari got a second chance to work with Miguel Mendao and a fourth project with Adam Benjamin on a bit of consultancy.
Challenges
It’s nice to be wanted, but Hari travelled for work every week in June. First there was Manchester, then Munich, the Newport and then finally Malta - that’s a lot of mileage!
What that did mean was Hari and Aaron couldn’t make it to SOFest 2026, which was a real shame as SOFest 2025 was one of our highlights of last year. We ended up donating one ticket to the 2026 hardship fund so that someone from the charity or NGO sector, new to facilitation, on a low income, or from an underrepresented background could enjoy the delights of the festival of facilitation. The other ticket Kirsty kindly offered to hold over to next year so SOFest 2027 cannot come soon enough.
The biggest challenge for June was the unprecedented heatwave, which kicked Aaron and Hari out of their attic office and their children out of school for 3 afternoons in a row - lots of extra challenges there!
The month in numbers
40 - our London office reached over 40 degrees in temperature
19 courses delivered - covering storytelling, feedback, facilitation & more
4480 miles - 1 trip each week in June covered a lot of distance for Hari
